The journey to Vale Meão takes about an hour from the Baixo Corgo region, located between Lamego and Peso da Régua. Upon arrival in Vale da Vilariça, the slightly flatter landscape announces the hill that Ferreirinha purchased in the late 19th century to invest in an area never before planted with vineyards. This experience at Quinta do Vale Meão will include a bit of history and a 4x4 adventure through the Meander that, in the mid-20th century, contributed to the growth of the famous Barca Velha.
After an adventure through the oldest vineyards in this region, we will explore the wine presses and the cellar of Barca Velha, followed by a tasting of DOC wines and Port. Clients can accompany the tasting with olive oil, wood-fired oven bread, cheeses, and almonds from the Vale do Coa region. The wine tasting and accompanying elements are truly special!
After the journey to Vale Meão, we will head towards Quinta de Ervamoira for a brief visit to the Archaeological Museum of Vale do Coa, followed by a lunch surrounded by unique vineyards! During this lunch, clients will have the opportunity to once again pair all the gastronomic moments with wines from the prestigious Ramos Pinto brand.
